Since 2009, Faiz Karim, DC, has been helping injured athletes and people from all walks of life find relief from musculoskeletal dysfunction through Chiropractic treatments. Many people suffer from pain due to repetitive strain injuries caused by long hours sitting at the computer or due to previous injury. You do not have to be one of those people anymore.

Faiz grew up playing a multitude of sports, eventually participating at a high level in both soccer and swimming. It was through injuries while playing soccer that he was introduced to chiropractic treatment and began to experience its positive effects. His studies at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College (CMCC), where he graduated with clinical honours, provided the foundation upon which his treatments are based. He focuses on the treatment of conditions relating to the musculoskeletal and nervous system. Working with a wide variety of patients, his primary aim is to treat the source of the dysfunction rather than the symptoms. Through proper assessment, treatment, and rehabilitation, many common musculoskeletal dysfunctions can be corrected.

Faiz is fully certified in Active Release Techniques® (ART), a revolutionary myofascial (muscle) technique used around the world by many professional and amateur athletes. He is also fully certified in medical acupuncture. He utilizes both skills in the day-to-day treatment of all his patients. Faiz has assisted numerous world class soccer players, cyclists, runners, swimmers, and ball hockey players to overcome injuries and return to full fitness. Working extensively with yoga and pilates practitioners, he has facilitated advancement in their personal practice. His past experience has given him an increased skill set for patient care along with the experience of treating dedicated practitioners.

What is Chiropractic therapy? Chiropractic is a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the effects of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and general health. There is an emphasis on manual treatments, including spinal adjustment and other joint and soft-tissue manipulation. Chiropractic is safe for all ages as it uses gentle, effective, non-invasive treatment techniques. Furthermore, chiropractic helps to remove postural imbalances and biomechanical faults that can accumulate in our bodies over time. Our spines change and accrue damage just like our teeth, eyes, and heart. Left unchecked for an extended period of time, these changes may lead to pain, stiffness, or other more serious problems.

What to expect in a treatment: After a thorough history and physical exam, a treatment plan is created whereby the primary focus is to allow for the best possible recovery. Each treatment is tailored to the individual and will consist of any or all of the following: Active Release Techniques, acupuncture, chiropractic manipulation and rehabilitative exercises.
